Weekends are GOOD~!

This last weekend was a very successfull one. I succeeded in soloing the six Lvl 48 Mandragoras using Shiva as planned. I did made some mistakes during the fight but was able to recover from them on the spot. For starters the initial Sleepga did not hit ANY Mandragoras so they started pounding on me. I immediately 2houred and Diamond Dusted which took all the mobs off of me. From there on, I took my drinks and Hi-Ethers to prep for a second Diamond Dust which hit. The second mistake was shooting the third Diamond Dust too early and not having enough MP to sustain it(that sucked) so, not having enough MP to do much and wanting to be able to hold Shiva out till the end, Shiva and me had to whack out the last HP from each Mandy until they were all defeated. From there, Attohwa Chasm was much easier than I expected from my previous experience there so I obtained my map, wootz!

During a party that same night, I leveled to 70!!! I finally have access to the Avatar kickass moves and I put them to the test right away. They are so beautiful ;_;. Now I gotta find that testimony and go whoop Maat.

CoP Static on Saturday was another nice success. We got to The Shrouded Maw only to realize that Darksday had just begun and fighting Diabolos then would be rather pointless. Hence, we waited the RL hour and prepped for battle. We wiped the first attempt, in which we used all our 2hours so we decided to wait for the abilities to be ready again. Forty-five minutes before then, we agreed to do a "dry" run and have Death come as BLM instead of SMN. Again we proved that dry is the way to go!
Afterwards, we went after Ouryu, the earth wyrm. Lets say that the battles weren't anything to be prouf of. After three dry wipes, a strategy was set that should take the wyrm down. We were going to Aerial Blast x 2 > Eagle Eye Shot > Sleep it > Aerial Blast x 2 > Barrage > Sleep it > Aerial Blast x 2 > Whack it > Sleep it and hope it retreated soon after. Ended up working except we had to add a round of Aero II x 2 and a final Aero II (mine) to finish it off.

Oh, cant be CoP without it. MORE PRISHE!!!

Continuing with my map frenzy, I did the lame quest for the Map of the Northlands which gives me both Beaucedine Glacier and Xarcabard. Then on Sunday, after a 4k party, I decided to go after the maps of Castle Zvahl. There were no Flame Degens on the Auction House so I had to go to Ordelle's Cave and farm Napalms for it. When I got to the camping ground, there was another Taru standing there. o.O I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was camping the Degen also. He already had one but needed another one for his wife. The awesome thing is that he offered to party up with me and let me have the next drop. After a couple of bombs, the Degen dropped but I decided to stay and make sure that he got the other one he needed and eventually it dropped again!

During the camping conversation we learned the general reasons why we each wanted the map. He needed a coffer from the Castle and I needed to farm my testimony. He offered to help me farm the test after we were done in the cave!

So we headed to Castle Zvahl with our spanking new maps. I love the smell of new parchment! ^^; Once there, while walking the first hallway, a mid-level Paladin ran right past us with about six demons on its trail. I turned around to chase the train and Bumble followed. We healed the paladin and then Bumble started grabbing as many as he could. It all became stable once I had Shiva out and she Sleepga'd the bunch. It was so much fun taking down the mob of Demons one by one. Everything in this world tends to be so planned and emotionless. Its awesome when something like this pops up where you have to wing it and, surprisingly, you succeed.

After that, we made out way to where the Abyssal Demon pops. I made us miss the right ledge TWICE! I felt so bad. Guess it's been that long since I last tried this. On our way back up from one of the wrong falls, I was scanning from a ledge to see whether the demons in the area would aggro me or not. Well, they did FROM BELOW!!! Before I could summon Shiva and Sleepga them, I was mashed tarutatoes! Bumble kept at it for a while. He even cast Raise on me while fighting, which ended up costing him MP he needed, specially since I had Reraise on. >.>; He fought like the best of Paladins but, in the end, died "like a man"(his words) after taking out one of the six demons in the bunch.

After we raised and recovered, we made our way, finally, to the right room and we started to beat the crap out of all the demons there. Payback was so very sweet and Garuda's Predator Claws made it even sweeter. Bumble complemented me on the damage my Avatars where doing. It felt nice. ^^

We all got Coffer Keys while doing all this. Even Moslam, a friend of Bumble who joined us at this point. Some time into our demon tutoring, the Coffer popped in the room we were in(the odds of that are?). Bumble needed the Coffer for his THF AF so he bloodported(no one had any cudgels with a ready charge), came back as a THF and succesfully opened his Coffer obtaining the AF body I think. I was so happy that he got that since we were here just to get me my test but he got what he needed in the process.

The Abyssal Demons must have left their testimonies in their lockers or something because not one dropped it. It actually did not bother me at all even though its my fourth time there. I was happy to have obtained something far more valuable: a friend(yes its cheesy! But its true). I decided to end the night there just to be ready when I come back to keep harassing them demons until they give me my test. They will cough it up soon enough!

Pirates of the Bastore Sea

Like I said before, I decided to go after the map for Bostaunieux Oubliette. Apparently Blandine, and old lady from Mhaura, had been standing at the docks every day for the past year waiting on her husband to come back. I had a chance to talk to her daughter and she informed me that a very rare necklace that her father wore had been seen on a pirate during an attack on the Ferry. So, I decided to help out. I would ride the Ferry on and on until finding the Pirate and taking the Necklace back.

So, on my second ride, Pirates attacked the Ferry and I stuck it to them! Buncles and I decimated Crossbones two at a time until the Pirates fled in fear. Sadly, there was no necklace to be found on any of the fallen bones. I rode the Ferry a couple more times and no Pirates attacked. After three trips they decided to show up again and I called Buncles back. We began our bone whacking (lol) two, three and four at a time. I was spamming AoE spells and decimating them. Yeh, I was on a power trip. Not that it was a true challenge since all those Skeletons where half my level >.> After about five or six Skeletons I saw the necklace lying on the floor. I rushed to it and got it! Then, me and Buncles kept smashing the Pirates until they once again retreated in shame. SHAME I say!

It was convenient that I got the Sand Charm on my trip TO Mhaura so that I was right where I needed to be. I went to Celestina, Blandine's Daughter, and gave her the necklace. She and her mother had a long talk. At the end, Celestina rewarded me with the map of Bostaunieux Oubliette!

One more map in the bag, I am now preparing for my next adventure. I am going to obtain the map of Attohwa Chasm. Its going to be a bit more challenging than the previous two. I will have to travel to the island off Bibiki Bay and fight six Lvl 48 Peerifools (Mandragora) which I plan to solo with Shiva. Then, I will have to make my way through Attowa Chasm (shivers) to Boneyard Gully, where I will hopefully get my map. Wonder what meds I should take...

Mountain Surfing: Uleguerand Range's New Sport (Reward: Map)

Seeing as I've been finding myself going to Uleguerand Range lately to solo bombs while I hopelessly look for parties, I researched how to obtain the map and decided to give it a shot. Most of the quest is pretty simple: Talk to some people in Sandy and get a drop off a Moblin in Oldton Molvapolos. It was a new place for me so I enjoyed going there and exploring the area in search for where the two Moblins I needed spawned. After three or four Moblins, the Moblin Hotrock dropped and I made my Warp/WhitegateTaruTele/OPWarp way to Xarcabard and then to Ulequerand Range, where I would have to climb the whole zone.

I am already used to the trip all the way up to the higher areas of the zone so I wasn't surprised when I died and had to Reraise. Everything else was uneventfull. Taurs just seemed to always be looking away, except for the one that raped me. >.<; Took it like three hits and I was out.

The real challenge of this whole ordeal is the Thousandfall Ridge. I have to drop off a ledge and slide down the correct "line" in order to land on a ledge sticking out at the bottom of the ridge. To make it more fun, there are holes on the ridge that I have to avoid and if I happen to miss the ledge I need to fall on, I have to climb the WHOLE zone all over again. It was a good day yesterday! The ridge was far steeper and longer than I predicted from the picture so, after like a 35 seconds of sliding and "steering" my way clear of the hole, I landed nicely on the ledge I needed and made my way to the spot where I needed to melt some rock with the Moblin Hotrock.

Apparently some elvaan dude dropped his knife there and it got stuck in snow so he'd been slowly melting the ice away with Hotrocks he'd been farming. So he wasn't happy when I finally melted all the ice off on my one attempt. So, he traded me a copy of the zone map for the frosty knife. I was happy with my map! Forgot to dance though -.-; Oh well, I'll remember to dance next time!

I am thinking of getting the map for Bostaunieux Oubliette next since it involves encountering Pirates in the Mhaura-Selbina Ferry which I havent seen yet and sounds like a lot of fun. Well, I'll make sure Bubbles keeps you all posted.

Beginning to comprehend the Chains of Promathia

It was a long day but highly succesfull day last Saturday. We entered the Promina Aqueducts and fought the Minotaur flawlessly. By this time, we needed a Bronze Key in order to open one of the gates so we went to fight Fomors for it. Deathbydawn lived up to his name by doing a badly performed Carby Pull which caused EVERY Fomor in the room to gang bang us(lol). After we recovered from that Spalko decided he would change to Thief and "pick the lock" that we needed to open, then he would change to Paladin again and we would continue.
He died two times trying to acomplish this but it worked. We made our way through the library and, after some attempts, hit the right switches and made it to the little box thing.

The story line for CoP is really getting me excited. There are some awesome and pretty NPC's ^_^
Riverne Site was wonderful! And the cutscenes leading to the Mammet fight were also incredible. Its probably the first time that I feel a battle is so tied in to the actual story. We wiped once on the stupid monkeys. In response, Spalko came up with a weird ass strategy in which he was going to tank TWO of the Mammets while Chpal kited the third. Everyone would unleash on the current Mammet and then go die at the entrance. Afterwards, we would reraise and continue on to the next Mammet. Luckily we didnt have to do the dying part of the strategy and succeded with only poor Chpal hitting the dirt.

The excitement was high and we decided that, after a 3 hour break, we would go ahead and do the rest of the cutscenes and face Diabolos. They even put me down as Dark Knight, which had me pretty excited! An hour went by, still on cutscenes. Another hour went by and still on cutscenes. There is too much running around (cry). Then, we got to Attowa Chasm, also known now to me as "where SE had diarrea and took it out on us". We spend a good 2 hours in that place.
First was finding our way through a freakin maze of walls and little streams of fire. Then climbing the mountain over and over and over and over and over again because I was either falling half way through the climb OR I made it to the top and, while trying to find Clarisse who supposedly was at the place I needed to be, my key item's mojo would ran out. So, I had to dead drop all the way down the mountain, recharge the retarded (I am liking this word) key item and then go climb the mountain again, falling two to three times AGAIN. Was it a success? Yeah, we got everyone their key items and hopefully we wont have to climb that mountain in a while, although heck, I know how to do it by heart now.

It was a long fruitfull day. Definitely a good display of what we have in this static. If our morale keeps up with SE's cruel sense of humor, we will definitely accomplish what we have set out to do.
