The hunt began on Monday. I was there when the window opened and Drimer joined up with me about an hour into camping. Just like I expected, there was no sign of Argus or the Leech King(LK) for the hours before Drimer and I had to leave for Dynamis. It was a let down as we would have no accurate way of keeping track of ToD if either NM popped and was defeated while we were away. I did my best to keep track of possible campers in the zone through /searches. I noticed one person logging off from the zone towards the end of our Dynamis run and I made a note about it. That could be a possible ToD if the NM's didn't pop during the rest of the window, which we were about to camp.
There was no sign of Argus or LK for the rest of the window, which meant that they were claimed and defeated during the 4 horus we were away. T_T What luck! Now having to deal with an approximate spawn window of 16 hours due to no confirmed ToD, we began our stakeout. About 4 hours into camping I notice the THF that had logged the night before start to move around in a camping manner. After a while I decide to ask him if he had the ToD. He answered he did and quickly struck a deal in order to share it with me. The deal was pretty ok, he had Dynamis later that night and would like me to share the ToD if the NMs popped while he was away. I didn't mind at all and he confirmed he had defeated the Leech King the previous night right before I had noticed he logged. We partied up to ease the camping stress and the next few hours went by uneventfully, aside from random chest hunters or short time campers hanging by.
The Thief had to leave for Dynamis so Drimer and I again doubled our attentive efforts. She kepts good watch over LK's camp while I ran amock Argus camp stealin' Silver Beastcoins from the gobbies. >_> Hey, why not? There were moments when we had to change our strategy due to a camper showing up. When this happened, I would have Drimer take charge of the Big room where Argus can pop while I took charge of the small room and tunnel. Drimer would then intermittently take a look at LKs camp to check for pop. This went for a bit until the Thief came back from Dynamis and we partied up again, relaxing the camping again.
Not long after partying up, the Thief says he's gonna head to bed so he's going to disband and leave his character in the zone. Suspicious? YUPPERS! I've learned to be very un-trusting in this game. First I see the Thief randomly killing the bats in the small room. I ask him: " Weren't you going to bed?" He replied that he couldn't sleep over the sound of the bat's wings. That's when I realized that he was going to bed but was keeping his volume at max in order to be awakened by Argus' Blaze Spikes, common trick. He moved around and stirred for about one more hour before settling at the tunnel entrance.
I felt at that point that the rest of the night would be Drimer's and mine. Having the Thief AFK in plain view of the big room forced Drimer to have to stay on it while I stayed in the small room. Every 5-10 minutes she would take a quick look at LK's room while I kept an eye on the big room from the tunnel. It was at around 2 hours to window closing, after 14 hours of continuous camping, that Drimer went into LK's room to check pop and I once again watched the big room. I noticed, at the other end of the room, a mob's name that was shorter than usual. I thought it was probably one of the goblin names being partially covered by a pillar. I noticed quickly that what was under the name looked dark, slim and kinda tall. I quickly targeted it to confirm: "Argus".
"ARGUS IS UP! ARGUS IS UP!" I said like a madman.
"Are you serious?!?!" was Drimer's shocked reply. After 14 hours of camping it starts to become hard to believe the NMs exist. XD
"YES!!! Look at it!" was my reply as I was Fleeing to it to claim him. Funnily enough I couldn't "Steal Claim" it for the life of me. There was I circling the NM hitting "Mug" for 3 seconds before Drimer arrived and got it with a Dia spell. The next few minutes were a combination of joy for the claim, joy that Argus popped instead of LK, anxiousness of what would drop, and some sense of reward for our long hours of camping. It all reached a climax when Argus' HP was near zero and we saw his name turn gray, meaning he was dead. Like always, it takes a few seconds for the loot to load on the screen. LOOONG seconds when you are eager to know whether you got the drop or not. Suddenly the flood of loot popped on the chat log and, amongst all the words, I saw "Peacock".
"YEEESSSSS!!! It dropped!!!" was my utter cry of success! Drimer quickly followed with her cutest "Yey!!!" probably following my excitement as I am sure she hadn't had time to confirm the drop on her screen.
After a total of two 12-14 hour camping sessions we had attained the claim and obtained what we were looking for. It was a huge relief to know we would be leaving the zone finally after two days of living there. I had to break another smile for the knowledge that I beat Carste, a fellow LS thief, on a challenge he made on who could obtain the item first. He was beating himself pretty hard when I told him about our success. :D
Funnily enough, hes chosen to take a shot at Argus too, instead of his planned approach to buy the Rare version off the Auction House, so he grabbed the ToD from me. Drimer decided that she should also get one as her Warrior and Dancer could greatly benefit from it. Carste got a kill on Leech King yesterday so we continue to have the ToD so, funnily enough, the hunt on Argus will continue today and may last the whole weekend with the goal of getting Carste and Drimer their own Peacock Amulets.
We reluctantly head back to the Maze of Shakhrami hoping the hunt wont be as long as last time. But chances are it will be...

HASTE~!!!
Wanting to be able to use my Thief for the Panty Raid + Swift Belt Run last Saturday night, I decided to dedicate the day to grind my way from level 47 to 50. After a fun 5 hours of xping across two parties, I dinged level 50!!! Sadly, we didn't have enough people show up for the Run so I found myself with some free time. Dying to test out my new gearz(Haste +10%) and my recent Treasure Hunter II, I kept my promise and took Drimer to Ordelle's Caves to obtain her RSE legs, which will be very handy for her White Mage. After only about 30 minutes of mob stabby stabby the Chest key dropped. Next, in the second place I decided to look, we found the Treasure Chest and Drimer obtained the Magical Pattern she needed. :D
Thirsting for more hasted stabby stabby, I set out to Giddeus again to camp Hoo Mjuu the Torrent for his Monster Signa, a 70k gil staff. I spend about an hour there killin' placeholders before Hoo decided to show his beaky face. I was uncontested on the claim and he was easy to handle being only a lvl 17 NM. To my utter joy the Monster Signa dropped!!! GILZ!!! $_$ My Thief true colors are coming out. XD
During the weekend I was able to defeat Odqan, at Misareaux Coast, twice with no luck on the drop. I am very proud of one of those times as I outclaimed a Thief on my SMN/THF by throwing a PEBBLE at the NM. <( ^.^)> A PEBBLE!!! LOLZ. He was either very nice, suprised by my claim, or both so he offered me if I wanted TH3 on the NM. I quickly invited him, setting Treasure Allocation to Quartermaster on myself(not gonna let the drop get pooled). After the quick kill, there was no drop, not even the stupid 10k ring that usually drops. Oh well, guess I'll have to keep at it. Poor Elden must be tired of hanging out in Misareaux.
Now that I have Treasure Hunter II and some hope of survival, I will be takin Argus a little more seriously for the Peacock Amulet. Drimer has offered to help out on her White Mage, which is great as I am not sure what toll Argus will put on my Thief and having her keeping me alive and doing some nuking may very well turn the battle in our favor. If we get the claim, I hope my TH2 will help us get the drop. Guess we will have to sit and wait. :)

Eerie for Halloween <(-..-)>
The week has not lost momentum!
Tuesday night, Drimer, Elden and I formed a party and went out to Mount Zhayolm to beat up on Erucas(fiery Crawlers). This gave me a chance to test out my two new STR pieces of gear:
I don't remember exactly what my +STR is right now but its somewhere in the low 40's so I feel pretty acomplished. :D We didn't gain a level but we earned about 16k xp in the 2 hours the party lasted, putting us both at around 4k TNL. Next time we party, LVL 69 will be finally ours. We can almost taste those Optical Hats. Ewwwww.
Yesterday was another fun day. I made a party on Thief that took me from 44 to 46! Treasure Hunter II is finally mine together with Hide. I wasn't able to play around with Hide as we were Synced to 43 so I am looking forward to my next Thief party which Im hoping is Synced 45+. Being able to SATA no matter where the mob is facing is a really nice trick!
Static last night as also very fun. We got about 23,000xp and everyone leveled! I was particularly happy as I now get to use my Jelly ring!
OH OH OH, almost forgot(not really as I typed the tittle before the post) Drimer, Zerayla and I went out to East Ronfaure to participate in the Harvest Festival festivities. Zer and I came out on our lolPUPS and Drimer on her SMN. We went around hurtin' bats until we each had our ten. Then, with the Moogle's buff to help us, we went after Pyracmon, the boss Ahriman and obtained our Eerie cloaks. I have to say, so far, this is the event gear that I like the most. It looks specially creepy on my Dark Knight.

A Productive Monday
It was an AMAZING Monday last night! I obtained four key pieces of gear and still had time to do other productive things before logging.
The first thing I did when I logged at 5pm was go to the Temple of Uggalepih to farm Wespes for Bee Larvae, the item required to pop 'Death from Above' for the Hornetneedle. I've tried getting the pop item last week with no success so I was very hopefull to get it this time. To my surprise, after an hour of finding and killing bees, the item dropped. All excited since I still had some time before Dynamis, I pulled up a map of the zone to see where the spawn point for the NM was and, to my surprise, it was in the very room I was standing in. How convenient! So, with Ripokeke and Buncles at the ready, I threw the Bee Larvae at the tree and 'Death from Above' came flying down to attack me. It was a fun fight! The NM's attack speed resembled that of a Monk using Hundred Fists. No sweat though, Buncles held his ground very well and we defeated the Bee obtaining the Hornetneedle!!!
Its a great dagger due to its low delay and decent damage rating. It's a shame Summoner can't equip it. I'm dying to wield it. XD
Still having a good 30 minutes before Dynamis, I headed to Whitegate to check on Velvet Slops, the item I was missing to finish the Brygid quest for my Rapparee Harness. There were none for sale so I decided to take Zerayla on her crafting offer and bought all the ingredients and mailed them to Zerayla. Then, I teleported to Dem and made my way to Buburimu.
Dynamis Buburimu was a complete
success! We got the win so now Drimer is able to enter Dynamis Tavnazia with me when Utterchaos runs there next month. Drimer also obtained her first Relic piece, a Dreamlands accesory none the less~! On top of that, I obtained the -1 piece to upgrade my Relic Hands to Relic +1! Its a bit pricy but I coughed up the gil and gathered all the ingredients to upgrade it. So, Sunday afternoon I will be the proud owner of Summoner's Bracers +1! I feel so leet!
Of course, there was Dynamis Death, when is there no death there, lolz. My only wonder is, why is Chromius(our main tank) hiding all the way in the corner behind a rock? @_@

fter Dynamis, Zerayla had already crafted the slops I needed and mailed them to me so I headed to Lastok to finish the stupid quest. Rapparee Harness MINE~!!! I also did the final cutscene for obtaining my Bibiki Seashell so I will not be a gimpie Tarudin no more.
Still having a good hour before needing to sleep I decided to attemp "BCNM20 - Shooting Fish" again to hopefully regain some of the gil I lost getting items to update my relic hands. Zerayla, Elden and Sabene were heading to the same zone to do "Under Observation" so we decided to head there together and be there to Raise each other if either failed. They went 1/2 on winning but no good drops. Then I went in with Zera and Elden as backup. But like always when you have the help, I didn't need it. I succesfully soloe'd the BCNM. I didn't get the big selling drops but I got about 100k worth of drops which, once it sells, will feel very nice in my wallet. I will definitely be doing these a couple of more times.
Four pieces of gear and a nice start to a gilmaking venture; a nice Monday indeed. As if the post didn't have enougn pictures, there is a final one I just HAVE to add. This is from R.A.B. Static. It seriously looks like I am excited about something. Maybe its the two Mithra standing in front of me. But which? Is it the soothing, tender White Mage or the preppy, sassy Schoolgirl? >.> <.<

Extra Life Marathon FTW!!!
Last Saturday was the Extra Life 24 Hour Gaming Marathon to raise funds for the Texas Children's Hospital. I decided to participate and was able to raise $360 thanks to family, friends and even LS mates. I was very happy with the support I received.
So, what did I do for 24 hours straight? Play FFXI, of course! XD

Nyzul Static was the first thing to tick. We were planning to do two climbing rounds followed by a boss round but two fails forced us to do a third climbing round. Good news is that it was successful and we are now sitting at floor 26! I love Nyzul Investigation! Its on of the very few things in this world that feels VERY much like old-school RPGs.
Followed by Nyzul, Elden took us campaigning. Can't say we gained tons of xp but it was definitely fun and gave me a reason to start doing them again as I've neglected Campaing for a while losing rank. I need to start making sure I do enough to keep rank from now on.
Around 3am, Elden had to leave and get some sleep. Drimer and I headed to Misareaux Coast to farm and camp Odqan for my Bravo's Subligar. We were there till 9:30am and managed to farm about 50,000 gil. No luck on finding Odqan as there was barely any fog in the mornings.
At this point, it was time for Ninja Static with Sabene, Falk, Carste and Athoz. I geared my Ninja, Drimer her Dancer and we headed to the jungle. We all gained about two levels before it was time to call it quits at 1pm.
Between 1 and 2 pm we rounded up the crew in Tavnazia to begin our Panty Raid + Swift Belt run. We had a good roster between initial shows and people joining as the day progressed:

Carste (NIN)

We had two Fomor Codices and were able to farm three more. Also while farming, we found Eba, one of the annoying Fomor NMs in the area, and we were able to beat her. No Fomor Tunic drop though. We also got tons of Subligar drops, including the Thief Subligar that I needed to obtain my Rapparee Harness!
Once we were tired of the Aqueducts, around 7pm, we changed gearz to our lvl 50 stuff and headed to Sacrarium for some final Fomor hate farming and actually popping the NMs for the Swift Belt. We were able to pop 5 times but, to our frustration, only one Swift Belt dropped(on Zer's pop too, how odd). Standpoint, Drimer and I lotted on it with Drimer having the highest lot. She must have noticed my droopy reaction and, being the awesome wife she is, decided to pass so it would drop to me as I was the second highest lot. She really shouldn't have but it really made my day as I was very anxious about whether I was gonna get one or not. Next weekend we shall return there and try to get belts for the remaining members that need it: Stand and Drimer, followed by Mailinx.
This was over around midnight and, although we were planning on partying with Elden on our Thief and Dancer, sleep quickly crept on us and by 12:30am we gracefully retired for the day, a whole 24hour non-stop day.

I need to go get the Hornetneedle but that shouldn't be too problematic. The only thing I'm really missing to have a trully amazing setup would be the craved Peacock Amulet for Accuracy +10 and Ranged Accuracy +10 but so far with my two Shikaree Rings and my couple of Dagger merits I'm not having trouble hitting stuff so that can wait. I am very excited about this setup!!! Thief is proving to be really fun.

I need to go get the Hornetneedle but that shouldn't be too problematic. The only thing I'm really missing to have a trully amazing setup would be the craved Peacock Amulet for Accuracy +10 and Ranged Accuracy +10 but so far with my two Shikaree Rings and my couple of Dagger merits I'm not having trouble hitting stuff so that can wait. I am very excited about this setup!!! Thief is proving to be really fun.
